I wanted to pass along some additionalinformation that has been generated by our NRC Region IV.

Don:

WCFO has researched this issue further and has confirmed that both facilities previously held specific licenses that were terminated prior to 1985.

License No. 50-13478-01 was issued to Ketchican Pulp Company, and License Nos.

50-11218-01 and 50-11218-02 were issued to Alaska Lumber and Pulp. These license nos. are identified

' in the listing published in association with the Oakridge terminated license review project; however, they were not identified for regional followup.

WCFO also confirmed that Ketchikan Pulp Company subsequently acquired a Densart Model 3400 device under a general license in 1992. This device contained a cesium-137 source with a nominal activity of 80 mCl.

I hope this information is useful Donald A. Cool
