NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 70-1151/97-05

Allen:
This refers to the ins)ection conducted on September 22-26, 1997, at the Columbia Nuclear Fuel )lant.
The )urpose of the inspection was to determine whether activities authorized by tie license were conducted safely and in accordance with NRC recuirements. At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussec with those members of your staff identified in ihe report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of activities in progress.
Within the scope of the inspection, violations or deviations were not ider,tified.
However, your attention is directed to the three (3) exercise weaknesses identified in Section 6.e of the enclosed Inspection Report.
Please advise.us within 60 days of the date of this letter, of the corrective actions you have taken or plan to take, showing an estimated date for completion.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790, of the NRC's " Rules of Practice." a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be placed ir, the NRC Public Document Room.
