SEQUOYAH UNITS 1 AND 2

Dear Mr. Kingsley:
This letter confirms the telephone conversation between Mr. P. Salas of your
staff and me on October 24, 1997, concerning a predecisional enforcement
conference which has been scheduled for November 19, 1937, at 10:30 a.m.
The
purpose of this predecisional enforcement conference is to discuss the events
surrounding the apparent failure to align a spare battery to the #4 vital
battery board on July 24, 1997. The results of our inspectinn of this event
were documented in NRC Special Inspection Report 50 327,328/97 13 dated
September-11, 1997. The location of the meeting will be at the NRC Region II
office, Atlanta Federal Center, 61 Forsyth Street, S. W., Atlanta, Georgia,
Room 24T20. This conference is own for public observation in accordance with
Section V of the NRC Enforcement )olicy (NUREG 1600).
