SUMMARY
- On December 17,1997 (62 FR 66038), the Nucinar Regulatory Commission published a notice of recolpt of an amended potnion for rulemeking flied by Peter G. Crane and requested public comment on the amended pothion, in the amended petition for rulemaking, the potnioner seeks to amend NRC's emergency planning regulations to roouire consideration of sheReting, evacuation, and the prophylactic use of potassium lodido for the per. oral public in developing w range of emergency planning protective actWs. In addition, the pettioner has flied supplemental information in support of his amerxiod petition which is avallable in the NRC Public Document Room. The comment period on the amended pothion was to have expired on January 16,1998. In response to several requests, the NRC has decided to eMond the comment period for this action.
