$40.162 2.7.1 - Nuclear Island Nonradioactive Ventilation System -
As a result of the changes to the Main Control Room design, identified in your letter dated October 21,1997, the Tier 1 information and ITAAC should be revised as follows:
a.
A new table similar to CDM Table 2.1.2 2, should be added to identify all of the new safety-related lines.
b.
In CDM Table 2.7.13, ITAAC for this new piping should be included.
c.
CDM Figure 2.7.1 1 should be further revised to identify the ASME Class and the classification interfaces of all the new piping and valves.
640.163 The wording for the functional arrangemoni inspection for buildings and systems shoud be revised as follows. "The functional arrangement of the (building or system) is desuibed in Section 640.104 AP600 is a passive plant and natural circulation is a key feature of the plant. The piping lay-out of the passive systems is critical to the proper operation of the passive system. We understand the detailed piping lay-out of several systems are already finalized including the pipe stress analysis. Confirm that piping slope and elevation are specified in 'he ITAAC to verify that the passive systems will function us designed. Systems flow resistance and nozzle elevations given in the ITAAC are not sufficient to verify the system function.
640.165 For several systems, including non safety systems, the staff specified many require-monts in the initial Testing Plan (ITP). For those systems for which ITP tests will be used to satisfy ITAAC r3quirements, confam that the significant features of the ITP plan are included in the ITAAC.
