Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 License No. NPF-29 Completion Date Revised in Response to Notice of Violation (GNRO-97/00059) Report No. 50-416/97-05 GNRO-97/00108 Gentlemen:
Entergy Operation's response to Notice of Violation 50-416/G7-05-03, item IV.4 & 5, stated that we would perform a thorough evaluation of the fuel pool decay heat load calculations and heat removal capabilities considering projected batch sizes, outage duration, and operating cycle lengths and revise the FSAR to clarify the licensing / design basis.
In response to Notice of Violation 50-416/97-05-06, item IV.3.a, we further stated 'the requirements for the FPCC system will be clearly determined and consistently applied to all system components required for system operation".
The above commitments were scheduled to be completed by October 31,1997. During the engineering work in support of the violation responses, the scope of activities was expanded to include an extensive rewrite of the applicable FSAR sections. A revision of the committed response date from October 31,1997 to December 31,1997 is necessary in order to comotete engineering work and ensure the quality of the revised sections of the /M FSAR.
