Subject: NRC Inspection
This refers to a routine, safeguards inspection conducted by Mr. L. R.
Norderhaug and Mr. A. V. Wieder of this of fice on April 14 through May 13,
1986, of activities authorized by NRC License No. R-52.
It also refers to the
discussions of our preliminary inspection findings held by the inspector with
Dr. Triffet, Dr. Nelson, and other members of your organization on April 16,
1986, and a subsequent conversation with Dr. Nelson on May 16, 1986.
Areas examined during this inspection included activities related to physical
protection and material control and accounting as described in the enclosed
inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective
examinations of procedures and records, interviews with facility and other
personnel, and observations by the inrpector.
Within the scope this inspection, no violations were identified.
In accordance with Section 2.790(d) of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," 10 CFR Part 2, documentation of the findings of your safeguards and security measures
are exempt from public disclosure; therefore, the enclosed inspection report
will not be placed in the Public Document Room and will receive limited
distribution.
