NAC International (NAC) is acting as the general licensee for an irradiated fuel shipment for the l Department-of Energy (DOE) moving from Indonesia and Republic of Kore-Idaho National-
' Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL) via Naval Weapons Station (N s. S), Concord, CA.
. Per 10CFR 73.26, NAC International (NAC) is hereby requesting NRC approval of a spent fuel route for rail movement between NWS and INEEL.
-Carno DeNerintion:
/20 Cargo will consist of Training Reactor and Isotopes Production, General Atomics (TRIGA) fuel elements containing highly enriched uranium (HEU), not to exceed a total of 42 elements each in four
-(4) NAC LWT casks.' This is in accordance with our Cenificate of Compliance USA /9225/B(U)F for
- these packages.
Schedule:.
The shipment is scheduled for arrival at NWS during the first week of April,1998.
- Pronosed Route:
The proposed route and rail miles comprising each route segment is provided in Attachment 1.
