Dear Mr. Miller:
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) cond9cted a routine inspection of the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant material control and act sunting (MC&A) safeguards program on December 1510,1C97. The scope and results ohc inspection are summarized in the enclosure, which also includes details of the inspt o.iot At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with mernbers of your staff. No violations were identified, but three new inspector followup items were opened.
Under the provisions of Section 2.790(d), reports containing information related to a.3gulatee's MC&A program are exempt from p.sblic disclosure. Accordingly, the enclosure will 001 be placed in the Public Document Room.

INSPECTION REPORT NO. 70-7002/97 211 Dear Mr. Miller; The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a routine inspection of the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant material control and accounting (MC&A) safeguards program on December 1619,1997. The scope and results of the inspection are summarized in the enclosure, which also includes details of the inspection.
At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with members of your staff, No violations were identified, but three new inspector followup items were opened.
Under the provisions of Section 2.790(d), reports containing information related to a regulatee's 1
MC&A progra'i are exempt from public disclosure. Accordingly, the enclosure will agi be placed in the Public Document Room.
