Letter, J.B. 6dgar to W.S. Schwink, same subject, dated December 30,1997 Harry Felsher of your staf f, in a telephone conversation with Siemens Power Corporation (SPC) personnel on January 9, discussed the assumptions SPC made in its criticality safety calculations for the subject warehouse. The relevant assumptions are:
The steel in the storage racks, pallets, UO2 containers and building walls is not modeled; The spacing provided by the pallets is modeled; i.e., four con'ainers are placed on a 25"x25" area four inches above shelf level; The UO2 in each location is modeleo as a cylinder whose diameter is equal to the OD of its container;i.e., 11.2798", and whose height is 13.5"; and e
Reflector is modeled as 30 cm of concrete below and 30 cm of water above and at the outer boundary of the storage array, if you require further information, please call me at 509-375 8663.
