s Thank you for your letter dated September i,1997. I appreciate your kind wishes and support for the Intemational Nuclear Regulators Association. The organization continues to develop and I believe it will significantly contribute to better coordinated intemational regulatory communication and nuclear safety, I am pleased with the strong partnership between nur two safety programs as reflected by our active collaboration under the AIT-TECRO Program on Civil Nuclear Cooperation.
Mr. Collins' recent mission to Taiwan is an excellent example of this cooperation and exchange on relevant safety issues, as is the AIT-TECRO Annual Meeting on Civil Nuclear Cocperation in early Novemberiin which severm NRC staff members plan to participate.
Thank you for your invitation for Commissionets and other senior managers tc visit Taiwan.
I remember well your kind hospitality during my visit and the opportunity it gave me to ieam more about your nuclear power program and its safe operation.
