December 31, 1998 Mr. Tommy J. Denson Senior Project Manager, Year 2000 Information Services, SP 3G-C Tennessee Valley Authority 1101 Market Street Chattanooga, TN 37402-2801
Dear Mr. Denson:
This is in response to your November 18,1998, letter regarding Year 2000 (Y2K) compliance of our dose assessment code RASCAL v2.1. As you discussed with Janet Quissell of my staff, cur current version of RASCAL is 2.2. We will send you this revised version upon our receiving the information as to the quantities needed and a contact person's name and address.
The RASCAL v2.2 is Y2K compliant. RASCAL v2.2 uses the date on the computer's operating system. If the con.,auter's date is correct, the code's calculations will be correct. The code will also accept a user defined date and time. Our programmer tested the code for Y2K compliance by setting the date on his computer to dates before and after December 31,1999, and the code functioned accurately.
If you have any further questions, please contact Janet Quissell at 301-415-6402 or jmq@nrc. gov.
Sincerely.
