Supplementary Information:

On October 1,1997, NRC began hosting at its World Wide Web site, <http://www.nrc. gov >,

agency information that was previously posted on the FedWorld bulletin board system at the National Technical Information Service. NRC information at FedWorld is no longer updated and maintained except for the NRC Government Information Locator System (GILS). GILS will be '

maintained at FedWorld until October 1,1998.

Agreement States with the ability to participate in rulemakings has been replaced by two new -

gg webtites identified as a Technical Conferencing Forum (TCF), and a Rulemaking Forum (RF).

- Both websites are accessible via the Rulemaking link on the NRC main web page; The TCF m

can also be accessed directly at <http://techconf.llnl. gov /index.html> and the RF can be M

accessed directly at <http://ruteform.llnl. gov >.

Through the RF, the public and Agreement States are able to leam about, and officially g

g comment on, published proposed rulee. Comments on proposed rules can be uploaded to the 5:g n.

RF in lieu of sending written comments to NRC.
