Dear Mr. Ileach:
On October 7.1991,inembers of the Perry Nuclear Power Plar t staf f met in your offices to discuss Iwo predecisional enforcement issues and to conduct a management meeting to review recent inillatives at Perry. Due to tirne constraints, we were unable to conduct the management meeting.
We are very pleased with recent performance regarding operations, material condition, engineering projects, and support organizations at Perry and wouki like to share our perspective with you.
During the past several wecLE, members of my staff have attempted to reschedule this management meeting without success, in light of the results of tecent inspection activities and our concern over the issues being raised in these inspections, we would like to have a management meeting in the near future. The objective would be to provide a filatus of the perfiumance of each of the Perry management organizations as well as an update of the present performance of the Perry plant.
As you and I discussed in our telephone conversation on October 31,1997, it would be oppropriate to schedule such a management meeting as soon as we can make the necessary anangements. I would hope that we reach a clear and common understanding of the issues facing the Perry Management Team and the present plant perliarmance, in addition. I would like to invite you to visit Perry, so you can see, finit 1:and, the progress we are making. I will have my staf f contact your ollice to schedule these meetings. I look forward to a productive exchange ofinformation.
