NRC dated October 31,1997 Informing U.S. NRC of LER 373/97-021 Revised Supplement Report Date Corrective actions associated with LER 373/97-021,"Undrainable Low Areas in the Drywell Floor Resulting in a Degradation cf the Leak Detection System," included reviews of the design basis and as built condition of the reactor building drywell floor. During these reviews, inconsistencies in the dccumentation describing the initial problem were identified. These inconsistencies may have led to incorrect assumptions used in subscquent evaluations.
To resolve these issues, discussions with station personnel involv ed in the original 1994 event have been conducted and initiel construction rocoids reviewed. However, the evaluation of the design basis is taking loager than expected in addition, the verification of the new sump level meas 4irement system to Regulatory GJide 1.45 accuracy measurements has been delayed due to slow delivery of vendor information. We expect the necessary work to be completed with the results transmitted in a supplement to LER 373/97-021 by February 27,1998.
