" Methodology and Verification of GAPP Program for Analysis of Piping System with E-BAR Supports" Commonwealth Edison Co. (Comed) has been noti 6cd that Sargeni & Lvndy (S&L) and LISEGA are planning to submit to 'he NRC a Topical Report " Methodology and Veri 6 cation of the GAPP Program for Analysis of Piping Systems with E-BAR Supports", report number SL-5159. It is our understanding that S&lll.lSEGA have requested your reviav and approval of this Topical Report.
Comed's use of the E-BAR to satisfactorily perfonn the design functions cf components in non-safety related systems has been found to be cost efTective. Comed intends to use E BARS in safety-related systems in some of our nuclear plants, initially at LaSalle.
It will be in Comed's interest to incorporate the NRC-approved Topical Report into the amended licensing bases of the plants, where appropriate. Comed, therefore, supports and requests the NRC review of the S&i/LISEGA Topical Report.
It is our understanding that S&L and LISEGA will be responsible for the NRC review fees associated with this Topical Report.
