.Overall, performance at Davis-Besse continued to be excellent over the last 6 month period. The conduct of operations was generally good. However, some operator attention to detail problems and administrative control issues continued to be observed. Very good mater'st condition was-is maintained with few significant equipment problems noted. One exception occ'.:rred in May when an inadvettent deluge'of the main transformer caused a phase to ground fault and resultant' L'

reactor trip.1 The deluge was caused by a failure of a temperature sensor. Plant management remained actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the plant and the staff exhibited ownership of facilities and activities under their purview. The corrective action prograrn was it

. effective, overall, in identifying and correcting plant problems.
