SUMMARY

Licensee Personnel, General Public Utilities (GPU)

Mr. J. Hildebrand, Manager, Radiation Protection Mr. G. Loddy, Consultant Mr. M. Ikbal, GPU Mr. D. McGan, GPU Mr. M. Roach, GPU NRC Personnel Dr. R. Bellamy, Chief, Emergency Preparedness and Radiological Protection Branch Dr. M. Shanbaky, Chief, Facilities Radiation Protection Section Mr. E. McCabe, Chief, Reactor Projects Section 3B Mr. R. Summers, Project Engineer Mr. J. White, Senior Radiation Specialist Meeting Details On February 18, 1986, a meeting was held at the NRC Region I Office to discuss the licensee's preliminary investigation into exposure record discrepancies associated with some workers previously employed at the Saxton Nuclear Facility (now decomissioned). The records in question were for the period of exposure from 1969 to 1970 and indicated anomalous dosimetry data for about three personnel. The records were found November 7, 1985, while the licensee was attempting to compile a personnel exposure records file for the Saxton facility. The NRC was subsequently informed of record discrepancies and of the licensee's efforts to resolve the data.

The licensee presented the results of a preliminary evaluation and outlined the investigative technique employed. Since the dosimetry processor is defunct, difficulty has been experienced in obtaining records that may clarify the anomalous data.

The licensee will continue his efforts to fully explain the discrepancies in the records and committed to inform the Region by May 30, 1986 on conclusions derived from the investigation.
