1. Removal of Thorium Waste from Kerr-McGee Site in Illinois On September 9,1994, the removal of thorium-contaminated waste will begin at the Kerr-McGee Chemical Company in West Chicago, Illinois. Illinois Governor Jim Edgar will-. participate in a ceremony initiating the removal of the waste, which will be shipped by rail to Envirocare of Utah, Inc., for disposal. The Illinois Department of' Nuclear Safety the Agreement State agency, has authorized Kerr-McGee to dispose of 80,000 tons of contaminated soil and Reaion IV
1. Enterav (ANO)-Semiannual Manaaement Meetina The Deputy Regional Administrator will conduct a semiannual management meeting with the Entergy managers from Arkansas Nuclear One. During the public meeting the licensee will discuss the results of their self-assessments in the areas of maintenance, operations, engineering, radiation protection, and plant support.
