SUBJECT:
STATUS CHANGE RELATED TO NEED FOR REACTOR CORE SAFETY LIMITS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION CHANGE - MILLSTONE NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNIT 2
Dear Mr. Bowling:
Your staff had previously indicated that are amendment may be needed for the Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit 2, Technical Specification (TS) 2.1.1 " Safety Limits - Reactor Core." This determination was based on the initial results of the Configuration Management Plan being implemented at the Unit 2 faci'ity.
By letter dated December 9,1997, you indicated that the current TS for the reactor safety limits have been determined to be acceptable for the current operating cycle (Cycle 13) for Unit 2. It was further noted that the fuel vendor, Siemens Power Corporation, performed the necessary evaluations to support this detemilnation.
We have been tracking this as a potentiallicensing issue required for the restart of Ur;it 2 in the NRC staffs Restart Assessment Plan for the Millstone Station. We will remove this item as a potentiallicensing issue during the next update of the restart plan.
