In Reference (a), Duquesne Light Company (DLC) committed to conduct a detailed control systems failure review for Beaver Valley Power Station Unit No. 2 (BVPS-2) similar to the review performeo for other Westinghouse pl ants.
DLC submitted this detailed control systems failure analysis per Reference (b) in response to BVPS-2 Final Draft Safety Evaluation Report (SER) Confirmatory Issue No. 34. This issue was later relabeled Confirmatory Issue No. 32 in the SER issued in October 1985.
Subsequent verbal comunications with the staff regarding this analysis raised a new issue about the effects of multiple feedwater control valves f ailing open versus the single feedwater control valve f ailing open presented in Chapter 15 of the BVPS-2 Final Safety Analysis Report. Additional feedwater analyses were recently performed by Westinghouse in response to this concern. The results, entitled
" Additional Information on BVPS-2 SER Confirmatory Item 032," is being submitted for your review and should close out the subject issue.

Proprietary Information Notice, and accompanying Affidavit.
As item 1 contains information proprietary to Westinghouse Electric Corporation, it is supported by an affidavit signed by Westinghouse, the owner of the information.
The affidavit sets forth the basis on which the information may be withheld from public disclosure by the Commission and addresses with Specificity the considerations listed in paragraph (b) (4) of Section 2.790 of the Commission's regulatons.
Accordingly, it is respectfully requested that the information which is proprietary to Westinghouse be wi thheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10CFR Section 2.790 of the Commission's regulations.
