STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIEFING ON INTEGRATION AND EVALUATION OF RESULTS FROM RECENT l.ESSONS-LEARNED REVIEWS (INCLUDING 50.59 PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS) (SECY-97-205),2:00 P.M., WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 17,1997, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)

The Commission was hriefed by members of the NRC staff on their efforts to integrate and evaluate the results from recent lessons-learned reviews regarding implementation of 10 CFR Part 50.59, use and content of plant Safety Analysis Reports, design bases, and NRC oversight of licensee commitments and o.her related internal process issues, and on proposed options for addressing these issues. There were no formal requirements for staff action. However, the Commission indicated that it would provide guidance to the staff on these issues in the context of the Commission's consideration of SECY-97-205 -Integration and Evaluation of Results from Recent Lessons-Learned Reviews.
