CERTIFICATE AMENDMENT REQUEST - PORTSMOUTH GASEOUS DIFFUSION PLANT AUTOCLAVE PRESS JREi SWITCH INTERLOCKED WITH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM TO PREVENT OPENING THE AUTOCLAVE AT GREATER THAtJ 0.5 PSIG (TAC NO. L32037)

Dear Mr. Miller:

In accordance with your application dated July 1,1997, and pursuant to Part 76 to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Certificate of Compliance GDP-2 is hereby amended by revising the Justification for Continued Operation of issue 3 of DOE /ORO-2027/R3 entitled

' Plan for Achieving Complisnce with NRC Regulations at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant" to state that a single pressure switch, and not multiple pressure stvitches, is interlocked with the autoclave hydraulic system to prevent opening an autoclave if its internal prersure exceeds 0.5 psig. Accordingly, Condition 8 has been revised to include ':he date of July 1, 1997.

All other conditions of this certificate shall remain the same.
