SUMMARY

On September 27, 1985, NRC and applicant representatives met at the Seabrook Site in Seabrook, New Hampshire to discuss the project status of Seabrook 3

Station Unit 1 and to tour the plant to observe the construction progress.

Enclosure 1 provides the list of attendees at this meeting.

5 The applicant noted the following:

If there are no funding problems to impair the project, they would

_ be ready for a 5% power license by June 30, 1986.

. They intend to combine tne Shift Technical Advisor (STA) and Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) positions at Seabrook. (The appli-cant was informed that the Comission has stated that if you combine the STA & SR0 positions, then the applicant's personnel fillingthesepositionsneedtobedegreepersonnel)

. The applicant visited a number of utilities who were recently

, licensed and reviewed their allegation programs in order to use the best ideas in putting together the Seabrook allegation program.

Since the inception of the program, about 1900 interviews were performed (this includes both exit interviews and surveys) in order to identify safety and quality concerns. About 800 more persons who have left the Seabrook site will be contacted by certified mail.

. They have established a program to investigate potential drug abuse.

. They have a maintenance training program complete with classroom and small shop.

The applicant presented a video tape recording of some of the dynamic testing being done for their proposed cable tray qualification program. The cable tray qualification program utilizes dynamic testing as opposed to traditional linear elastic analysis.
