Enclosed please find a letter from Transnuclear, Inc. requestino an amendment to export license XSNM02241 to increase the quantity of naterial authorized for export by an additional 43.983 kilograms of uranium-235 (contained in 52.510 kilograms total uranium, enriched to 93.3 w/o maximum). Transnuclear also j
requests the withdrawal of export license XS'n32P43.
Before taking action on this license aoolication, we would aporeciate your views, in accordance with established procedures, as to whether the orocosed export meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act, as amended by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Act of 1978. Also, niease refer to our letter dated March 21, 1936 regarding the Commission's request for an Arconne National Laboratory report on the status of collaboration effort with HFR-Grenoble l
covering the progress made so far in developing a low-enriched fuel for the HFR Grenoble facility and an indication of what more needs to be done and how long it is expected to take.
