ATTACHf1ENT ONE TO C8512-13 CNSI Response to NRC Comment Letter dated October 29, 1985 MODEL CNS 8-120 DOCKET 71-6601 1.
HRC C0fHENT:
The packaging drawing does not show the modification authorized by condition 11 of the certificate of compliance (Chen-fluclear letter of Decemberj, 1980).
8 CNSI RESPONSE:
The package drawing has been revised (General Hote 12 added) to permit plug handles to be replaced by 1-1/2" square har stock.

NRC C0fiMENT:
The drawing should note the specific dimensions effected by drawing Note 5.
Previous packaging drawings noted its application.
CNSI RESPONSE:
General Note 5(B) has been revised to indicate that the + 1/4" tolerance is applicable to the 78-1/2" length of the inner shells.
3.
NRC COMfiENT:
The material specification (ASTM A-285-C) cited for part Numbers 31 and 39 should be reviewed to detemine if the specification covers 1/16" thick sheet steel.
CNSI RESPONSE:
ASTM A285 limits naximun plate thickness to 2" for this specification however there is no limitation imposed for minimum thickness. The material for part numbers 31 and 39 is a sheet steel with the composition and material properties specified in ASTM A?85 for plate.
4 NRC COMf1ENT:
Part Numbers 6, 27, and 29, which are listed in the Bill of Material, should be shown on Sheet 1 of the packaging drawing.
CNSI RESPONSE:
Part Nunbers 6 and 29 have been identified on the package drawing.
Part number 27 has been deleted since it was replaced by iten 41.

NRC C0ffiENT:
The dimensional information for Part 20, in the Bill of Material, should be corrected.
CNSI RESPONSE:
The 7-1/2" dimension was corrected to read 71-1/2" nominal.
6.
NRC C0fif1ENT:
On sheet 1 of the packaging drawing, Zone E6, the number of 2-1/2" diameter pour and vent holes should be specified.
CNSI RESPONSE:
The package drawing has been revised to identify that there are three pour and vent holes.
7.
NRC C0ft1ENT:
(Section 1.2)
Correct the inconsistency between the description and the drawing relative to the location of the drain port.
CNSI RESPONSE:
The drain port location dimension in Section 1.2 has been corrected.
8.
NRC C0ffiENT:
(Section 4.4)
The time peried cited in the first paragraph should be revised to require, "twice the expected shipment time".
CNSI RESPONSE:
Required time period has been revised as requested.
