SUBJECT:
INSPECTION REPORTS ON VERA ENGLISH ISSUES Mr. Ratner, who represents Ms. English, had requested that Region II expedite its review of the concerns expressed by Ms. English in her interview with members of the Region II staff.
At present, the Region II staff, with the aid of a consultant, is reviewing the transcript of that interview to determine all safety allegations contained therein.
This review involves individuals from several different disciplines and is expected to be completed in three to four weeks. At that time, Region II will determine which issues have already been addressed, as discussed below, and will conduct any necessary inspections to address the remaining concerns.
Because Ms. English had raised several concerns in phone conversations with Region II some time prior to the transcribed interview, some of her concerns have already been reviewed by Region II.
These reviews have resulted in three reports being issued by Region II, which contain 10 CFR 2.790 information.
Also, a Section Chief was sent to review G.E.'s response to issues Ms. English had raised with them.
We are forwarding all three reports to you. Mr. Ratner will have to get the 10 CFR 2.790 reports from you after signing the appropriate affidavit of nondisclosure.
If the final report covering the new concerns in Ms. English's interview contains 10 CFR 2.790 information, we will also send that to you for controlled release to Mr. Ratner.
