Containment Systems Branch, DSS CONTAINMENT SYSTEMS BRANCH C0t9fENTS POR TAR 3916 In accordance with Technical Assistance Request 3916, we have reviewed the appli-cant's proposed modifications to the design of the component cooling water system for the Washington Nuclear Plants, Units 1 and 4 as described in Attachment A.

Our only comment is that the applicant should verify that the influent and efflu-eat lines for the component cooling water system are each provided _ with two aut8-matic containment isolation valves, one inside containment and one outsido containment, since the system inside containment is not ANS Safety Class 2.
