Sutwntttel of 96 day Response to Generic Letter 97-04 On October 7,1997 the Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued Generic Letter 97-04 (Reference 4 regarding a potentietty sit,nificant lesue which may have generic implicaticns with regerd to the pedormance of Emergency Core Cooling System pumps. The generic letter requested, within 30 days, a written response indicating (a) whether or not the requested information will be submitted, and (b) whether or not the requested information will be submitted within the requested time period. Vermont Yankee provided a 30-day response (Reference b) and committed to providing the requested Information within the 90 day time period specified. The 90 days specified in the generic letter corresponds to January 5,1998, 1
