Stolz, Chief Light Water Reactors Branch No. 1, PM DEACTIVATION OF ONSITE METEOROLOGICAL MEASUREMENTS PROGRAM AT WPPSS NUCLEAR PROJECTS NOS. 1 & 4 In a letter to the Director, NRR, dated January 30, 1976, the applicant stated that upon completion of the second full year of onsite data collection,the onsite mateorological program will be deactivated at the WPPSS Nos. 1 & 4 site. The second year of data is expected to be completed by the end of March, with danctivation scheduled for April or May 1976. It is planned to reactivata the program four months prior to the delivery of fuel to the site which is scheduled for lato 1977 or early 1978.
The Meteorology Sectioa, Hydrology-Meteorology Branch, SSEA has no objections to the deactivati6n of the meteorological measurements system as planned. However, if it is anticipated that more than two years will elapse between the time that the system is deactivated and the time that a Final Safety. Evaluation Report is submitted for the site, provision should be made to collect an additional year of data within a time frame that will permit the avaluation of these data prior to the scheduled date for fuel loading.
