As stated in sub-section 2.3.3.1, (2.3.3) page 2.3-16(a) of the PSAR (Amend-ment 9, August 1974), onsite meteoro-logical data collection began at the new tower in February 1974.

In order to verify the conservativeness of the atmospheric dispersion (X/Q) values calculated by the staff using meteoro-logical data from the Hanford Meteoro-logical Station tower, provide joint frequency distributions of wind speed and direction by atmospheric stability (based on vertical temperature differ-ence) using preferably)nine or more (but not less than six months of data collected onsite.

It is the staff's position that no (2.3.3) modification or deactivation of the present onsite meteorological measure-ments program be made after the issuance of the Construction Permit without prior discussion of the proposed modification or deactivation with the staff.

Conse-quently, provide a discussion of the proposed status of the onsite meteorolog-ical measurements program during the period subsequent to the issuance of the Construction Permit and prior to the issuance of the Operating License.
