2 RAB Q2 WPPSS 1 (1) Figure'12.148 " Health Physics Control Point" does not match the equivalent section in Figure,12.1-13'.

Resolve the discrepancy.

(2) The answer to question 12.17 indicates come misunderstanding of the question. Therefore it is reworded as follows:

Demonstrate that the vent airbotne radioactivity monitors are sufficiently sensitive so that they can detect 1 MPC 60 o, in any individual of particulates, such as insoluable C

compartment in a reasonable time (i.e., 2 MPC hrs which is state of the art). ' Assume dilution of the compartment radio

  • activity concentration by the total exhaust flow in the vent.

If this cannot be demonstrated, propose additional monitoring systems that can ' perform in this manner.

4 (3)

Pg.12.2-5 states that the fixed filters for the airborne monitors are "normally changed every 7 days..." Describe the air moving system that will allow constant flow of air through the filters over 7 days of particulate collection.

(4) The answer to question 12.19 is unacceptable to the staff because whole body counting should be performed routinely irrespective of what the inplant air monitoring program shows. The staff requires that the applicant provide a conunitment to a routine internal dosi:netry program including whole body counting since this is a technique for demonstrating the eff, cetiveness of the airborne radioactivity monitoring program.
