COMENTS ON HAMPOED MO. 2 INITIAL DECI$10N R. Loose, EPH for Hanford No. 2, has reviewed those portions of the ASLB Initial Decision dated March 15, 1973, in the Matter of Washington Public Power Supply System's Manford No. 2 Nuclear Power Plant which fall within the cognizance of the ADEP. The following conneuts are offered:

1. There are no apparent exceptions or errors which would require a change in the decision or affect the manner in which the plant may operate.
2. Page 29, paragraph 36, line 12: Only the radiological effects of accidents on the environment have been assessed (see page 32, paragraph 42 and page 41, para-i graph 59).
3. Page 31, paragraph 39, last sentences This sentesca could he clarified to read "the staff has proposed that any construction permit issued be conditioned to include a provision requiring the Applicant to immobilize chemicals that will be discharged to the soil resulting from initial cleaning of installed piping systems and equipment se that residae cannot become airborne.
4. Page 31, paragraph 40, line 10: Lines will be constructed by the Sommeville Power Administration.
5. Page 45, paragraph 60-80: It is assumed that the discussion with respect to the FWPCA h ts of 1972 is legally correct.
6. Page 55, paragraph 82 (b): game cannent as item #3 above -

chemicals resulting from initial cleasing.
