NOTICE OF NONCONFORMANCE i Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted on June 3-13, 1985,-it
- appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in accordance with
- NRC requirements as indicated below:
- Criterion V of Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50 states: " Activities affecting
_ quality shall be prescribed by-documented instructions, procedures,'or drawings, of.a type appropriate to the circumstances and shall be accomplished in accordance with these instructions, procedures, or drawings. Instructions, procedures, or drawings shall include appropriate quantitative or qualitative acceptance criteria for determining that important activities have been satisfactorily accomplished."
i- Nonconformances with these requirements are as follows:
A.- Paragraph 4.4.2.4.3'" Radiation Aging" of NEDE-24326-1-P, Rev. 1, dated January,1983, General Electric Environmental Qualification Program states, in:part:
... The justification for the radiation exposure (s) to be used, including the dose rates and dose equivalents ..., shall be documented
, in the PAR...."
Contrary to the above, the Product Analysis Reports (PAR) included in Environmental Qualification Reports (EQR) NEDC-30404 dated October 1984
' (Book C03) on safety-related thermocouples for the Nine Mile Point, Unit 2 nuclear station and NEDC-30446, dated April 1985, (Book C59) on safety-related. pressure transmitters for the Hope Creek nuclear station did not contain documented ' justification for the radiation exposures to be used.
B. Paragraph 4.4.8.1 " General", under Paragraph 4.4.8, " Documentation", of NEDE 24326-1-P states,'in part: "As a minimum, the qualification 4
' documentation shall consist of the following:
... (b) Product Analysis Report (Appendix B) ...."
Contrary to the above, EQR NEDC-30378 (Book C11) on safety-related level transmitters for River Bend Unit 1 did not contain a PAR.
