GDC-4" The purpose of this letter is to supplement our submittal dated October 21, 1985 which requested in f

dance with the provisions of 10 CFR Part 50, Sec-tion 50.12, an exemption from the requirements of 10 CFR part 50, Appendix A,

General Design Crite-rion 4 (GDC 4).

Our exemption request (Reference a), relied on supporting analyses performed by the Westinghouse Electric Corporation.

Non proprietary versions of three Westinghouse reports were provided as attach-ments.

The purpose of this letter is to provide proprietary copies of two of these reports for NRC Staff review.

Proprietary copies of the third report were previously submitted to the NRC on October 24, 1984.

Enclosed are fifteen copies of WCAP-10929, "Techni-cal Bases for Eliminating large Primary Loop Pipe Rupture as the Structural Design Bases for Prairie Island Unit 2," Westinghouse Proprietary Class 2, September 1985, and fifteen copies of WCAP-10931,

" Toughness Criteria for Thermally Aged Cast Stain-less Steel, Westinghouse Proprietary Class 2, September, 1985.

As these attachments contain information propri-etary to Westinghouse Electric Corporation, they are supported by an affidavit signed by Westing-house, the owner of the i n fo rma t i o n.

The affidavit sets forth the basis on which the information may be withheld from public disclosure by the Commis-sion and addresses with specificity the considera-tions listed in paragraph (b)(4) of Section 2. 790 of the Commission's regulations.

Accordingly, it is respectfully requested that the information which is proprietary to Westinghouse be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR Part 2, Section 2.790 of the Commission's regulations.

Correspondence with respect to the proprietary-aspects of the Application for With-hold or the supporting Westinghouse affidavit should reference CAW-85-061 and should be addressed to R A Wiesemann, Manager, Regulatory and Legisla-tive Affairs.
