Your approval is requested for the radiological safety and environwatal review schedules enclosed. Enclosure 1 is a level "C" milestone sum:ary, Enclosure 2 is the concurrence and approval copy of the safety review level "D" network, aad Enclosure 3 is the environmental review level "D" network.
The critical path in the proposed schedule is the radiological safety review, spanning 15 months from docketing ou October IG, 1973 to the posti-ACES Safety Evaluation Report Supplement issuance on January 14, 1975. The Safety Evaluation Report (SER) will be issued on October 3, 1974, 11 1/2 months after dor.keting. Based on an assumed uncontested, conbined hearing, the prospective decision date will be March 3, 1975.
The environmental review will be accomplished in 13 1/2 months l
from docketing to issuance of the Final Environmental Scatement l
(FES) on December 6, 1974. Our drafe Environnental Statement will be issued on July 5, 1974, 9 r.onths af ter docketing. The initiation of the environmental review is delayed approrfm tely 3 months due to funding limitations and attendant staff availability.
This delay does not affect the prospective decis an date since the FES will be available prior to the SER SuppAmt.
l The applicant, Washington Public Pcwer Supply System, has stated that a CP is necessary no later than April 1,1975 in crder to meet a projected cormaercial power production date.of September 1, 1980. Our prospective decision date of lisrch 3,1975, will meet the applicant's stated need.

L. Manning Ifuntzing The projected schedule has been designed to circupent delays of up to 4 weeks occurring in the preparation of Round 1 requests from four TR branches'. Manpower commitnents. to already scheduled dockets preclude a timely start on this docket. The delays incurred are made up by shortening applicant, TR and/or LPM response times so that all draft inputa to the SER will be mada within the " standard" 41 weeks from docketing.
