WPPSS NUCLEAR PROJECT #1 POPULATION DISTRIBUTION i
. 5
'A This table presents information on the population density within i
'.}
}
50 miles of the WPPSS #1 site. The WPPSS #1 site is located in
~ f the state of Washington about 8 miles NW of the city of Richland, t jl Washington. The site,is about 2-1/2 miles west of the Columbia
.i River. The population figures in the enclosed table show that in 1980, the anticipated year of operation, tha population density is projected to be about 60 person /mi averaged out to 20 alles and
~
about 38 persons /mi averaged out to 30 miles. The SPF factor r
for 1980 is 0.025 at 30 miles (as compared to an SPF factor of O.5 for a site with a uniform population of 500 persons /mi ).
2 The maximum projected population density at and of plant life (year 2020) is about 113 persons /mi averaged within 20 miles of the site.
On the basis of the above information, it is concluded that
~ population distribution for the WPPSS #1 site is not a significant consideration with respect to alternative sites.
