CONFIRMATION OF UPCOMING NRC INSPECTION AT YOUR FACILITY

Dear Mr. Moser:

This letter confirms the dates of January 1213,1998, for the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff to conduct an inspection of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation  ;

(Westinghouse) facility in Cheswick. These dates were established in a telephone conversation on December 29,1997, between you and Mr. Kamal Naidu of this office.  ;

The inspection will relate to the implementation of your quality assurance program that you have established to control Westinghouse services related to the refurbishment of 480 Volt and 4.16 +

kV circuit breakers in general. Specifically, the inspectors intend to review the records documenting the refurbishment of eight 480-Volt cicuit breakers sent from Indian Point, Unit 2, in response to Consolidated Edison Company of New York purchase order 890493 of November 1, 1986. In addition, the inspectors will review 10 CFR Par 121 items identified by various utilities.
