SUBJECT:

Executive Branch Transition As you know, the President has designated Secretary Card _to lead the transition process for the Administration.

To ensure that this process works as smoothly as possible, Secretary Card has asked me to request that each department and agency designate a person who will serve as their chief transition contact.

The designee should be in a position to speak on behalf of the Secretary or agency head and should be familiar with the operations and responsibilities of the department.

Please inform Daniel Casse, Special Assistant to the president for Cabinet Affairs, of your designated transition contact by close of business on Wednesday, November 18 (phone: (202) 456-6722; fax: (202) 456-1605).

A complate list of official j

department and agency contacts will then be provided to President-elect Clinton's transition team.
