Dear Mr. Paladino:
I am writing on behalf of Suffolk County to advise you that the County opposes any exercise of the Long Island Lighting Company's emergency plan for the Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant which does not involve county or state participation.
While I have called foh a test using county personnel, it is the policy of the County, as expressed in Resolution 111-1983 that the County shall not participate in evacuation planning or the exercise of the LILCO plan.
Accordingly, absent amendments to Resolution 111-83, the County can neither participate in, observe, nor in any other way support an exercise of LILCO's emergency plan..The County asks that the Commission take no action inconsistent with the County's position.
