1.

delaying issuance of the proposed generic letter while the staff works with industry to i

reach agreement on NEl 97-06.

releasing the Draft Regulatory Guide DG-1074 for public comment.

3.

releasing the Differing Professional Opinion (DPO) Consideration Document and the Memorandum dated September 25,1998, to the Commission from J. Hopenfeld.

The public notice should make it clear that the staff has not had the opportunity to respond to the September 25,1998, memorandum from J. Hopenfeld and that it will do so as part of the staff's

response to public comments.

. While DG-1074 is out for public comment, the staff should ensure that it is not used in i

inspections.
