Dear l's. Gebbie:
During a recent telephone call with Mr. Terry R. Strong, Chief, Office of Radiation Protection, the week of August 19-23, 1991, was agreed to for a f ollow-up review of the Washincton Radiation Control Program for agreement traterials. The !;RC representativec will be Beth Prange and Jack Hornor.
I understand iron Mr. Strong that you can be available sorcetine during the day Thursday, August 22, 1991, to discuss your prograrr and any findings or reconnendations we tray have.
The NRC is still withholding conpatibility until the cccpletion of the updating of your regulations. One of the priaary objectives of the follow-up review is to treasure the State's progress toward accpting those regulations which are deemed to be ratters of ccmpatibility. As you know, agrecrent states with stefiing per license ratios ruch less than that of Washington are able to maintain compatible regulaticns.
