On May 16, 1986 EPA Region 9 received its review copies of the NRC Draft EIS for the DECOMMISSIONING OF HUMBOLDT BAY POWER PLANT UNIT NO. 3, HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CALIFORNIA (NRC DOCKET NO. 50-133). Two earlier packages of the SIS were lost in transit, apparently due to a wrong zipcode.
Per your phone conversation with Mr. David Tomsovic of my staff, NRC will accept EPA's comments until Monday, June 30, 1986. This will allow EPA the full 45 days of review required under CEQ's regulations for implementing NEPA. I appreciate your followup assistance in making sure that EPA Region 9 received copies of the EIS, and your granting us the full 45 days.
