Public Meeting Between New llampshire Yankee and the NRC conducted on June 21, 1991.

Subject:

Request for Inspection Report and Clarification of Radiograph Quality issues Gentlemen:

In the June 21, 1991 Public Meeting between New Hampshire Yankee (NHY) and the NRC [ Reference (b)], the NRC requested that within two weeks, NHY provide a proposed corrective action plan which would respond to the inspection items which remained unresolved or unacceptable at the close of the public meeting. Alsc during this meeting, the NRC informed NHY that the findings of this inspection would be published in Inspection Report 91-12.

Given the importance of the matters at issue, and after extensive deliberation of the findings presented, NHY is of the view that a more thorough understanding of the NRC's concerns, and their interrelationships is necessary in order to assure that our response addresses them.

Therefore, NHY respectfully requests that submittal of our report be delayed until two weeks after receipt of Inspection Report 91-12.

This will enable us to adPess any relevant questions with a thorough understanding of your concerns.

In addition, in order to further assure our report will be responsive to the NRC's concerns, NHY requests the opportunity to meet with Mr. M. Modes, NRC Level III, and any other personnel that the NRC deems appropriate, to review the subject radiographs to further clarify these issues as required.

Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact M r.
