mis report documents the Reactor Core Isolation Cooling (RCIC) system injection associated with the scram of Unit 2 on August 5,1985. We Reactor scramned on a hrbine Control Valve Fast Closure due to a Peactor High Water level signal. his signal also tripped the three (3) feedpump turbines and isolated the RCIC steam supply. As the vessel level decreased after the scram, the trip condition cleared, BCIC was reset and manually initiated at 0823 to restore vessel level until the feedptmps could be reset and returned to service. We RCIC injection was secured at 0827. We scram was reported by Licensee Event Report (LER) 85-021-00 dated Septenber 4, 1985.
A Fatigue Utilization Factor Analysis has been performed by the Nuclear Plant Engineering (NPE) group. As of October 31, 1985, the total ntsnber of RCIC actuation cycles is forty-nine (49). A conservative analysis indicates the current usage factor for the affected noz::les is less than 0.70.
