  • The Revised MOV should be available this week from DOE /HQ. It was sent to DOE /HQ from DOE /AL last Wednesday.

1 In addition, a draft Maintenance and Surveillance Plan (M&S) for UMTRA licensing n should also be sent to us this week for NRC review.

U Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) concerns have been the topic of recent meetings with contractors and with the State of Utah (functioning as the RAC fortheVitrosite). It appears that DOE will be resolving discrepancies with the implementation at different sites. NRC will be provided the site-specific ,

EH&S and Remedial Action Inspection (RAI) Plans for Shiprock within the month for review. Arthur indicated that this would be done for each site on a temporary trial basis.

The State of Oregon has pressured the DOE into releasing the draft Ea to the public, prior to receiving and incorporating cooperating agency comments. DOE is still interested in receiving our comments and will address them in an interim addendum or perhaps in the final document, if appropriate.

DOE is expecting to have initial documentation en the remedial action citernatives for the Na~iajo sites (Tuba City, Monument Valley, Mexicen Hat)

O as well as for Ambrosia Lake sometime next month. Arthur did not know when we-would see them, but suspected that some FONSIs . tight be planned for the end of i

, _this cale ur year.
