Dear Mr. Conant:
This letter refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. James Kottan of this office on November 18 20,1997, of activities authorized by NRC License No. SNM 1067 at the ABB
- Combustion Engineering Facility, Windsor, Connecticut, and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Kottan with yourself and other members of the ABB Combustion Engineering staff.
Areas examined during this inspection are important to public health and safety and are described in the NRC Region l Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within those art as, the Inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
1 Within the scope of this inspection, we s.oted that you continued to maintain effective programs for implementing the provislor,s of your licanse.. You maintained effective control of radioactive materialin storage ara control of facility activities to maintain worker radiation protection. No violations of regulatory requirements were observed and no response to this letter is required.
