SUBJECT:
DRAFT SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT (DSER) FOR WNP-3 In your memorandum of January 29, 1985, you requested a status of our review of the applicant's submittals for WNP-3.
The Chemical Technology Section provided a draft SER on November 8, 1983.
We need additional information to complete our review of Sections 9.1.2 (Spent Fuel Storage), 9.1.3 (Spent Fuel Pool Cleanup System), 9.3.2 (Post. Accident Sampling), and 10.3.5 (Secondary Water Chemistry).
The Fire Protection Section provided a draft SER on January 11, 1984. We have 22 open items. The applicant has yet to complete the fire hazards analysis of maintaining a safe shutdown capability in the event of a fire within any plant fire area, and has not compared the WNP-3 Fire Protection Program to the guidelines in BTP CMEB 9.5-1.
