DAILY HIGHLIGHT UNP-2 PLANT STATUS r

On July 9, 1984, while performing routine surveillance on Diesel-generator #2, higher vibration readings and some sparks were r.oted as coming from the generator. On retesting, the vibration reading increased and the generator was shutdown. The cause has not been determined as yet. The licensee decided that the unit could not be returned to service within 72 hours8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br /> as required by the Technical Specification. Therefore, shutdown of the plant was started on July 10, 1984. The generator was removed from DG #2 on July 11, and will be shipped to G.E. facilities in Spokane, Washington, for further testing.
