Dear Mr. Denton:
On January 2, 1986 (Serial No. 1234), I wrote to you setting forth information on the proposed affiliation between Tha * ~_ ado Edison Company (TED) and The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Csmpany (CEI). On April 29, 1986, following the approval by t.he Securities and Exchange Commission, the affiliation was implementec.
(A copy of the Securities and Exchange Commission's April 29, 1986 order was furnished to the Commission by letter dated May 5, 1986).
As a result of the affiliation, Toledo Edison is now a subsidiary of a holding company, Centerior Energy Corporation, and continues as an electric utility company. Toledo Edison's nuclear operations continue with essentially the same employees and management structure.
With the establishment of the holding company, the management organization changes described in my January 2 letter have been put into effect. As Senior Vice President, I now report to the President of Toledo Edison who in turn reports to the Chief Executive Officer of Centerior. No other structural changes affecting the management of Davis-Besse have been made. The nuclear operations organizaeion for plant management and technical support, as described in our February 6, 1986 meeting with your staff, remains unchanged. We will keep you fully 1
informed of any future changes such as those described in my January 2 1
letter and these will not be made until Davis-Besse is restarted through 1
the power ascension program.
